It's tempting to skip the warm-up, especially when time is short — but a good warm-up isn't a formality. It's the difference between a body that's ready to perform and one that's cold, stiff, and more prone to injury.
Jumping straight into heavy or high-intensity work without this transition asks cold muscles and an unprepared nervous system to perform at their peak immediately — which is both a performance and an injury risk.
A warm-up doesn't need to be long to be effective — 10 to 15 minutes done well beats 30 minutes done on autopilot. Treat it as part of the workout, not a chore before it.
